Web Evaluation Portal Privacy

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 26, 2026

This policy applies to the NavScene Web Evaluation Portal at navscene.com.

Accounts and Evaluation Access

Protected portal features require an authenticated account. The portal stores account information needed to provide and control access, including an email address, password hash, account role and status, organization membership, and the applicable evaluation access period. Administrators may invite and manage evaluation users.

Mission and Portal Data

When an authorized user creates a mission brief, the portal processes and stores the mission information entered or selected by that user. Depending on the workflow, this can include a location or coordinates, mission type, RPIC name, mission note, mission time window, altitude, terrain target, and related map state.

Generated mission records can also include weather snapshots and assessments, alerts and data gaps returned for the mission, terrain assessment results and samples, and map workspace state.

Saved Scenarios

Saved Scenarios are stored on the portal server and associated with the user, organization, and active evaluation. A Saved Scenario can contain the mission point and mission form values, terrain target, map type and camera, selected country or state, FIRMS age filter, mission radius, overlay settings, unit preferences, drone settings, launch times, and waypoints. Current live FIRMS detections are requested again when a scenario is restored rather than being treated as saved scenario data.

Sessions and Security Data

The portal uses an essential, HTTP-only session cookie to keep an authenticated user signed in. The server stores a hash of the session token together with creation, expiration, and revocation information. Sessions expire after 12 hours, and expired or revoked session records are eligible for cleanup.

To limit repeated sign-in attempts, the running server temporarily keeps hashed rate-limit keys derived from the submitted email address and client network address. Web servers and service providers may also process standard request data, such as network address, browser user agent, request time, and requested path, for delivery, reliability, and security.

External Operational Services

The Web Evaluation Portal contacts external services only as needed to provide its operational features:

These providers may process requests under their own terms and privacy practices. The portal does not send account passwords to these operational data providers.

Advertising, Analytics, and Sale of Data

The current Web Evaluation Portal implementation does not contain third-party advertising or analytics tracking and does not sell portal user data. The essential session cookie and operational provider requests described above are used to deliver and secure portal functionality, not for advertising.

Data Retention and Deletion

Each evaluation has configured access dates and a data-retention date. The current portal code records that date but does not expose an automatic user-facing purge based on it, so this policy does not promise automatic deletion on that date.

The Delete Scenario action permanently deletes the selected Saved Scenario record from the portal server after user confirmation. It does not delete the user's account or generated mission briefs. For account, mission-record, or other deletion and privacy requests, contact the address below.

Access Boundaries

Mission and scenario endpoints require authentication and active evaluation access. Saved Scenarios are restricted by user and evaluation ownership checks. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but the portal applies these access controls and does not expose protected portal routes as public pages.

Important Notice

The NavScene Web Evaluation Portal supports operational planning and evaluation. The operator/RPIC remains responsible for checking official weather sources, local aviation regulations, airspace restrictions, NOTAMs, and final operational and flight safety conditions before every mission.
